About the Role

Five Guys on West 55th St is looking for a hands-on Shift Manager to support our General Manager and lead our crew. Located in the heart of NYC, our kitchen is loud, high-energy, and focused on quality. We don't just manage from an office; our managers work every station—from the grill to the register. If you have experience in fast-casual dining and hold a NYC Food Protection Certificate, we want you on our team.

What You Will Do

• Lead by Example: Provide hands-on support at every station: cashier, lobby, prep, grill, and fries.
• Drive Operations: Execute opening and closing duties efficiently while maintaining high energy during the rush.
• Support Management: Assist the GM and AGM in managing the restaurant to ensure guest satisfaction and profitability.
• Team Leadership: Direct the crew during shifts, ensuring brand standards and safety procedures are followed.
• Problem Solving: Handle temperature fluctuations, heavy volume, and guest inquiries with a cool head.

Requirements

• Certification: Must hold a valid NYC Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection (Food Handler's License).
• Experience: 1+ year of management experience in a fast-casual restaurant.
• Age: Must be 18 years or older.
• Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English to communicate with the team.
• Physical: Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift 50+ pounds for the duration of the shift (up to 10 hours) with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Conditions: Comfortable working with hazardous substances (hot oil) and in a noisy environment.
