As our Sushi Chef, you’ll take ownership of the sushi station, overseeing everything from preparation and presentation to inventory and team development. You’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality, beautifully crafted sushi that delights guests and reflects our commitment to culinary excellence.

This position is part of the Flik Hospitality Ace Team. As a member of the Ace Team you will be responsible for supporting and/or managing Flik accounts. Being based in New York City, you will mainly support units in the Tri-State region. Additionally, you will be assigned to support non-local Flik locations requiring up to 25% travel. Ace schedules vary each week based on business needs. The majority of the assignments fall between Monday through Friday. There will be periodic evening, weekend and holiday assignments given with advance notice.

What You’ll Do:

  • Craft Exceptional Sushi: Prepare and present high-quality sushi with attention to detail, flavor, and aesthetics.
  • Lead the Experience: Own the sushi station’s setup, breakdown, and daily operations, ensuring a seamless and engaging guest experience.
  • Champion Food Safety: Follow HACCP guidelines and ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of all perishable items.
  • Inspire the Team: Train, mentor, and motivate team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with the Executive Chef to manage staff, implement company policies, and drive operational excellence.
  • Innovate & Elevate: Stay current with culinary trends and bring fresh ideas to enhance the sushi offerings and overall dining experience.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: 3+ years in upscale sushi preparation and high-volume operations.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire culinary teams.
  • Technical Skills: Exceptional knife skills and deep knowledge of sushi techniques and HACCP standards.
  • Professionalism: High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable with Microsoft Office and reservation/order systems.
  • Physical Capability: Able to lift up to 40 lbs and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Certifications: ServSafe or Department of Health certification preferred.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a team that values creativity, quality, and hospitality.
  • Work in a dynamic environment where your culinary skills make a real impact.
