Marketing Assistant – Creative Content & Digital Engagement

Help us tell the Strader’s story, one post, picture, and video at a time.

Strader’s Garden Centers is looking for a creative, tech-savvy marketing team member who loves blending visual design, social media, and storytelling to connect with customers and inspire plant lovers. This is a hands-on, highly varied role where you’ll design, create, and share content across print and digital channels — and see your work come to life in our stores and online community.

What You’ll Do:

• Graphic Design – Create and maintain semi-permanent templates for our weekly Columbus Dispatch banner and seasonal ads, plus design flyers, special project sheets, and promotional materials.
• Photography & Photo Collages – Produce weekly email-ready collages with engaging text overlays.
• Video Creation – Film and edit short videos (about 90 seconds) for our website, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Content ranges from entertainment to informational to store tours to monthly “What’s Happening at Strader’s” updates.
• Social Media Management – Plan, post, and schedule 4–7 posts, reels, or stories each week, adjusting to highlight fresh deliveries, sales, and timely topics.
• Special Projects – Develop creative pieces such as planting guides, product scan sheets, and topic-specific information sheets.
• Engagement & Monitoring – Track online conversations about Strader’s, plants, and garden centers; join in with positive, brand-building engagement; identify opportunities to boost awareness.
• Sales Impact & Analytics – Drive in-store visits and online gift card sales through digital marketing; review performance metrics regularly to refine strategies.
• Extra Credit Skills – QR code creation, trend-spotting, and a knack for finding clever, timely content ideas.

Please note that this position is part time (less than 20 hours per week). Ideal candidates will either pair this position up with other part time employment, or assist in the garden center with other duties when not performing the marketing duties. This is not a remote position.
