Job Title: Library Assistant III - Circulation (Part-time)
Department: Library
Salary Range: $16.10 - $17.57/hour

General Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Circulation Manager performs the full scope of clerical and para-professional responsibilities in the operation of the circulation department. This is a part time position.

  • Education Certification & Experience
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • One to three months related experience and/or training
    • Valid Drivers License
  • Knowledge Skills & Abilities
    • Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
    • Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and distance.
    • Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
    • Computer Skills To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Salary and Benefits

This is an hourly non-exempt position with a starting wage range of $ 16.10 - $ 17.57 per hour. Salary offers are based on the candidates equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Schedule

The normal work schedule is 19 hours per week; exact schedules are assigned by management. It is the attendance standard of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work. or partial absence during any scheduled shift arriving late or leaving early for whatever reason may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Time off may be approved if allowed by applicable policies covering illness injury or other personal emergency.
